Problem
The Michigan Association of Chiropractors recognized that it's members were facing uncertainly around the upcoming Michigan Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA). Chiropractors, like other small business owners needed clarity on how the law applies to their practice, what policy updates and docmentation are required, how to manage accruals and the risks associated with non-compliance. Without clear guidance, members risked confusion, inconsistent practices and potential legal exposure.
Solution
I partnered with the MAC to deliver a customized learning session that broke down the complex requirements of ESTA in to practical, easy to underdstand steps. During the session I provided an overview of the legislation, shard best practices for implementation, and included decision-making resources to help owners determine which method would best fit their business size and structure.
Service
Through this facilitated session, I provided education and practical tools, including compliance checklists, action planning guides and sample policy templates.
Outcome
As a result of this session, attendees left with a clear understanding of ESTA and its impact on their practice in addition to the confidence needed to implement this new process without disrupting patient care and business operations.
